Overview
Leadership development has a credibility problem. A great deal of it consists of frameworks with weak evidence, delivered in a tone that assumes the audience wants inspiration rather than information. This course is built on the opposite assumption.
It covers nine modules: what changes about the work as you move up; strategy as choice rather than aspiration; decision quality under uncertainty; the duties that attach to directing an organisation; the management practices that show up in national productivity data; the employment law framework in England and Wales while it is mid-reform; psychosocial risk and responding to distress; change and restructuring done without breaching consultation duties; and the conditions that erode judgement and integrity over a career. Where the evidence is good, it is cited with its source and year. Where a framework is popular but empirically thin, the course says so rather than presenting it as established.

There is no licensing regime for business leadership in the UK and no protected title. What exists is a set of roles with genuinely different demands, and a set of duties that attach automatically once you take certain positions — whether or not anyone has trained you for them.
