The Level 3 Award in Supporting Teaching and Learning is suitable for learners who are not yet working in a Level 3 school or college role but are able to achieve at this level. It is also suitable as initial training. The Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning is suitable for learners working in support roles within schools and colleges. The Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning is suitable for learners working in roles that offer specialist support for pupils’ learning in primary, secondary or special schools, as well as colleges.
Entry is at the discretion of the centre. However, learners should be aged 16 or above to undertake these qualifications. There is no specific prior knowledge a learner must have for these qualifications. However, learners may find it helpful if they’ve already achieved a Level 2 qualification. Centres are responsible for ensuring that these qualifications are appropriate for the age and ability of learners. They need to make sure that learners can fulfil the requirements of the learning outcomes and comply with the relevant literacy, numeracy and health and safety aspects of these qualifications.
